From May 2019 until August 2020 every State Controlled road in Queensland was scanned, using our new Optech Maverick Mobile Scanner. From the scanned point cloud we were able to locate and attribute all speed signs along the route. Attributes for sign code, street name, suburb, direction and condition of sign, among others, was recorded.

JPEG images of each sign were also supplied with date and time stamps included.

As well as State Controlled roads being scanned, all local roads were also audited using field teams with GPS units

In total, more than 71,000 speed signs were located throughout the state! This was the biggest project ever undertaken by Schlencker Mapping.
